Striketober: The New American Worker Movement

Analysts have begun to call this month “Striketober,” and we’ve heard about how this is “The Great Resignation” unfolding before our eyes.

This is shocking to the C-Level execs in their corner offices. To the average American worker, regardless of political affiliation, not so much. Yes, it’s been over 100 years since Emma Goldman spoke in Union Square. In that time, much has changed regarding the American worker.

The 1950s saw organized labor boom, but as ABC News notes: https://abcnews.go.com/Business/striketober-workers-seize-power-pandemic-wanes/story?id=80640190, individual workers are organizing themselves.

The pandemic has created a scenario where worker demands are a big deal. Jamie Dimon at JPMC thought that by his fiat, everyone would return to work. Didn’t happen. As a result, Chase lost some of its best talent to the competition.

Will mediation be needed to get this under control? Yes. It may not be organized mediation, such as that which happened with the Teamsters last century. But a facilitated negotiation on your behalf with your employer to protect your rights? We’re ready to help!
